I find that conducting or coaching music ensembles has a lot in common with facilitation. Musicians with expertise in their own domains (such as oboe or violin) are trying to achieve something larger than themselves, and helping them do so is at the heart of my work as a conductor and coach.
Always attentive to interconnections, I hold the big picture in mind while attending to musical details and nuance. I specialize in working with ensembles of advanced amateurs, semi-professionals, and combinations of these, creating and holding spaces where we can explore and discover together.
